    In 2010, 414 million people were living in extreme poverty across sub-Saharan Africa. These people either lack access to appropriate healthcare resources or cannot afford it when available. Most existing charities that send equipment to Africa do so without providing the healthcare staff with training in how to use the equipment. According to a paper published by the WHO, in sub-Saharan Africa up to 70% of equipment donated lies idle due to lack of training and technical support.
    This is where we are unique in our take on the problem. EquipAfrica aims to Equip, Enlighten, and Empower. Through this process we ensure that after a hospital is equipped, the healthcare staff are able to use the equipment to an optimal level, thereby empowering them to improve care and save generations.
